Barcelona exits the Champions League with a disappointing 3-0 loss to Bayern

Bayern Munich defeated FC Barcelona 3-0 at Spotify Camp Nou to take the top place in Group C.

In the earlier kickoff, Inter Milan hammered Viktoria Plzen, with Robert Lewandowski starting against his former team, ousting Barca from the chance for a spot in the round of 16.

The Germans got off to a great start as Sadio Mane scored on 10 minutes following a counter-attack through ball by Serge Gnabry.

On the half-hour mark, Julian Nagelsmann’s side took advantage of another transitional moment as Choupo-Moting extended their lead thanks to an assist by Gnabry.

Barcelona had a penalty overruled by a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review after Lewandowski fell down in the area as a result of a tackle by Matthijs de Ligt.

With his third goal in stoppage time, Bayern sent Barcelona home.

Several names climbed to the top of the trends after the loss.

Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele received criticism for yet another subpar effort in a crucial match.

For failing to recognize and respond to the threat posed by Mane and Gnarby, Bellerin was also subject to criticism.

Lewandowski, who left Bayern Munich to win the Champions League with Barcelona, was also made aware of his remarks following the loss.

Given the sums of money spent on signing star players like Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha, Barcelona manager Xavi is also under tremendous pressure.
