The champions league game between Paris saint Germain (PSG) and Instabul Basaksehir was suspended 13 minutes into the game after the fourth official allegedly made a racist remark on the the visitor’s assistant manager.
A fiery debate was held on the touchline around 15 minutes into the game when tensions spilled over at the Parc des Princes after the fourth official is believed to have directed a racist remark at Istanbul Basaksehir assistant manager Pierre Webo.
Webo was sent off after 14 minutes after words were exchanged with fourth official Sebastian Coltescu from Romania.
The Basaksehir players left the pitch after around 22 minutes as refereeing officials, club officials, coaching staff and players discussed what they believed had happened.
It it was hoped that play will resume with a replacement fourth official, but no agreement could be reached.
The match is expected to be resumed on the 14th minute on Wednesday with a new set of officials.
