Six minutes later, United had a fantastic opportunity to grab the lead when Luke Shaw found an unmarked Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes, on the other hand, misdirected his header from six yards out with just Vicario to beat.
The home team came within inches of scoring just before halftime when Son Heung-min set up Pedro Porro, whose first-time shot hit the crossbar.
