The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared December 25 (Christmas), December 26 (Boxing Day), and January 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day) as public holidays. This announcement was made in a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In his address, the minister extended warm festive greetings to all Nigerians, encouraging citizens to reflect on the themes of love, peace, and unity that the season embodies.
Minister’s Message to Nigerians
“The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” said Tunji-Ojo.
